Prepare for Your Intensive Car Driving Course – What to Take, What Not to Forget!

Taking a driving course in the UK is an exciting journey. It’s a fast-paced, efficient way to learn to drive and obtain your licence. However, it’s essential to come prepared to make the most of your course. Here’s what you need to take and what not to forget when preparing for your driving course.

1. Provisional Licence

Before you start your intensive driving course, make sure you have your provisional licence. You can apply for a provisional driving licence at the DVLA when you’re 15 years and 9 months old, and you can start driving a car when you’re 17. You must have a provisional driving licence for Great Britain or Northern Ireland when you’re learning to drive.

2. Theory Test

Your theory test should ideally be passed before you start your driving course in the UK. If you haven’t passed it yet, make sure you book another one as soon as possible. The theory test is a crucial part of your driving education, and passing it is a requirement before you can take your practical driving test. You can easily book it online.

3. Hydration

Staying hydrated is essential for maintaining concentration and focus. Remember to take a bottle of water with you to your driving lessons. This will help you stay alert and perform at your best.

4. Regular Breaks

If you have any reasons why you need regular breaks, make your instructor aware. This could be due to medical conditions, or simply because you find it challenging to concentrate for long periods. Your instructor can then plan the lessons accordingly to ensure you’re comfortable and able to learn effectively.

5. Phone Off

Ensure your phone is off or on silent mode during your lessons. You don’t want it to vibrate in the car while driving, as this can be distracting. It’s essential to minimise any potential distractions so you can focus fully on your driving lessons.

6. Rest and Sleep

Ensure you get plenty of rest and a good sleep the night before your lessons. Being well-rested will help you concentrate better and absorb the information you’re learning.

7. Avoid Alcohol and Other Substances

Avoid drinking alcohol or taking any other substances that could affect your driving ability the night before your lessons. It’s crucial to be in the best possible condition for your driving course in the UK to ensure your safety and the safety of others on the road.

Conclusion

Preparing for your intensive driving training is key to making the most of it. By following these tips, you’ll be well-prepared to start your driving journey.
