What do I need to start? What should I bring to my lessons?
To start learning how to drive, you must meet the DVSA requirements. Detailed guidance on what is required can be found here.
Your driving instructor will need to see:
* Your provisional driving licence
* a printout of your driver record (which can be obtained here)We recommend bringing a bottle of still water with you for each lesson to stay hydrated
How does it work
-
What time will my lessons be and how long will they last?
We recommend taking time off work to complete your intensive driving course, as driving for four hours each day can be exhausting. Lessons typically take place in the mornings or early afternoons. Instructors usually carry out one to two courses per week and have other tests from previous weeks so flexibility is required.
Lesson schedule is organised directly with the instructors, two weeks before the start date. If you require a specific schedule, please discuss this with us prior to booking and we will confirm if this is available.
There will be a break approximately halfway through your session. Your instructor will take you to a location where you can get a drink, use the restroom, and take a short break. Typically, a local supermarket.
-
How does the course work?
Your instructor will start your driving course in a quiet area to help you become accustomed to the car. You will be taught basic skills, such as moving off and stopping, as well as how to handle junctions. As you gain confidence and master the basics, your instructor will introduce more challenging subjects, including roundabouts, crossroads & other important topics. After covering all the necessary subjects, your instructor will typically conduct a “mock test” to assess whether you are ready for the real driving test.
Theory test
-
Is the theory test included? How do I prepare for it?
The price of our course includes all study materials needed for the theory test. You will get access to the Highway Code, hazard perception videos and multiple choice questions – everything required to prepare for your theory test (online course).
The theory test fee of £23 is not included in the course price. Your theory test needs to be booked separately through the DVSA website (we will email you all the instructions upon course booking).
The theory test must be taken at a DVSA theory test centre. You can find the nearest one here.
-
Do I need to pass my theory test before starting a course with you?
We recommend taking your theory test no later than 1 month prior to the start of the course. This is required so that we can start working on booking your driving test and getting it shortly after the course completion date.
Doing your theory test later doesn’t stop you from doing your course. Without passing your theory test, you can still start the course as planned. It simply means you will need to wait longer for the practical test, as we can only start looking for your driving test once you pass your theory test and complete our driving test request form & we need some „working time” to find you a test.
Driving test
-
Is the driving test included?
Yes, one fast-track practical driving test is included in the price of each course.
-
How long is the wait for a test?
Driving test waiting lists can often stretch to several months. However, we are usually able to secure a test much faster—often up to 90% quicker than the standard DVSA waiting times.
In most cases, your test will be arranged within a few days to a few weeks after your course finishes, provided you have passed your theory test and submitted the driving test request form early (ideally several weeks before your course begins).
-
How do you get driving tests so quickly?
Many clients think we have priority access to DVSA bookings—but that’s not the case. Like everyone else, we use the DVSA system. The difference is the time and effort we put in: we have a dedicated team member whose sole job is to monitor the DVSA booking system throughout the day. Thanks to this, we regularly secure 60–100 test slots each month for our clients, shortly after their courses.
Technically, you could do the same—checking the DVSA website over 100 times a day until a cancellation appears—but most people simply don’t have the time or patience. That’s where our experience and dedication make a real difference.
-
Can you guarantee the test date?
We’ve been operating since 2014 and have extensive experience in securing test slots quickly. While we can’t guarantee a specific date or time — since availability depends on DVSA & cancellations found — we always aim to find the soonest possible test for you.
-
What if there’s a longer wait for my test?
If there’s a gap between your course and your test date, you can take extra lessons (charged separately) or arrange private practice (make sure it’s safe & legal).
-
What happens at the end of the course?
On the final day of your course, your instructor will conduct a mock test, to ensure you are safe & ready to sit your planned test. If not, you can book more lessons (subject to availability) or reschedule your test. Please note: cancelling or changing your test after the DVSA’s deadline means losing your test fee.
-
Is it a guaranteed pass?
While we cannot guarantee that you will pass your driving test due to various factors that can impact the outcome, we strive to provide you with the necessary knowledge and skills to pass. Many participants of our courses have successfully passed their driving test, and we take great pride in their achievements. You can find their results here.
-
What if DVSA changes its rules?
In the unlikely event that DVSA ever restricts companies from booking tests, we’ll clearly guide you through booking your own test & how to find a cancellation. We will provide as much support as possible.
Results
-
What is your pass rate?
As we offer a significant number of courses, we do not track and publish exact pass rates. However, we regularly share photos and testimonials of our successful clients on our Results Page. We encourage you to visit our page to view their success stories and read about their experiences.
-
What if I fail my driving test?
If you fail your driving test, you will need to rebook it at a cost of £62. You may also choose to take additional lessons with your instructor on a pay-as-you-go basis.
If you need help securing an earlier test date, we offer a Fast-Track Test Booking Service (only to clients who have done a course with us). Finding an earlier slot requires extensive work, often over several weeks.
Due to the time and effort involved, this service is priced at £299 (including VAT and your test fee). Any additional lesson hours or car hire for the test must be arranged and paid for separately to your instructor.
Course selection
-
Which course should I choose?
We offer three intensive driving courses with durations of 5, 7, and 10 days.
Here is an overview of each course to assist you in making a decision:
5-day course. This course totaling 20 hours, is designed for intermediate clients who meet one of the following:
- have taken at least 20 hours of driving lessons with a qualified instructor recently (e.g., within the last 6 months) and feel about halfway to being test-ready;
- have engaged in extensive private practice in a safe and legal way (e.g., lessons with family) amounting to a minimum of 20 hours recently (e.g., within the last 6 months) and feel about halfway there;
- have experience driving various vehicles (e.g. farm vehicles) on private land from a young age, are comfortable with car control, and just need experience on main roads;
- had many driving lessons and have failed a driving test within the past 3 years;
- were nearly ready to sit a driving test within the past 2-3 years;
- have a car driving licence from abroad and are legally allowed to drive in the UK for some time (check DVSA guidance), but need to prepare for a UK Car Driving Test.
Participants in this course should be confident in fundamental car skills, including clutch control, gears, hill starts, negotiating easy junctions, maneuvering through easy roundabouts, and performing at least one of the maneuvers.
7-day course. With a total duration of 30 hours, this course is suitable for clients who meet one of the following:
- have completed at least 10 hours of driving lessons with an approved instructor recently (e.g., within the last 6 months);
- have undertaken at least 10 hours of private practice recently (e.g., within the last 6 months) and mastered the basics;
- have taken a driving test within the past 4-10 years, but failed;
- were nearly ready to sit a driving test within the past 4-10 years.
Participants in this course should have a grasp of basic skills, including basic clutch control, moving off and stopping, dealing with easy junctions, progressive braking, gears, and easy hill starts.
10-day course. This course is intended for individuals with little to no driving experience and includes a total of 40 hours.
The 10-day course is most suitable for clients who meet one of the following:
- have no prior driving experience but are confident in their ability to learn quickly (note that 4 hours per day can be very exhausting, even with a break halfway through);
- have taken some driving lessons, but still feel the need to start “from scratch”;
- took a driving test many years ago, but would like to start “from scratch”;
- were almost ready to sit a driving test, but it was many years ago, and they would like to start “from scratch”.
Please note, learning to drive is a very individual process and you might need additional lessons after your course, if you are not safe & test ready.
Who should not consider intensive courses:Intensive driving courses may not be suitable for clients who find learning to drive challenging and require more time to effectively grasp the concepts. In such cases, traditional lessons spread over a longer period might yield better results. It’s also important to note that intensive courses may not be the best choice for those who find it difficult to spend long durations in the car (around 4 hours per day). Although there is a break midway through the sessions, these courses demand considerable effort. Learning to drive intensively for extended periods can be physically and mentally exhausting. Furthermore, the rapid approach of the driving test may add to the time pressure, which can be daunting for some learners.
